Established in 1971, with just one machine, Metcalfe Plant Hire Limited grew to become one of the North of England’s largest privately owned and successful plant hire businesses. Operating from its base in Penrith, Cumbria, Metcalfe offers more than 500 items of plant, both operated and non-operated, ranging from small micro diggers to a 50 tonne mobile crusher.
Metcalfe runs its own certified in-house training department which ensures that the company maintains its status as one of the country’s foremost industry accredited businesses, as well as having a team of experienced engineers and mechanics to ensure that customers receive a 24/7 service that is second to none in the region.
Since we acquired Metcalfe in June 2007 it has gone onto enhance its reputation by the significant growth of its contracting division and the building of a purpose built training centre.
